Music Bingo, Trivia & Live Events in Tampa Bay — A Local's Honest Take
Looking for trivia night near Brandon, music bingo in Tampa Bay, or somewhere to actually do something on a Tuesday? Here's the deal on the East Hillsborough event scene.
The Tampa Bay event scene gets a lot of hype. Most of it is downtown. Hyde Park. Channelside. Bars with $14 cocktails and a line at the door.
That’s great if you want to drive 40 minutes and pay for parking. It’s not great if you live in Valrico, Brandon, FishHawk, or anywhere on the east side of Hillsborough and just want to do something fun on a weeknight without an Uber.
So let’s talk about what’s actually around.
The weeknight problem
Most local spots in our area are restaurants pretending to be bars. Or sports bars where the TV is louder than the band. Or chain places where “trivia” is a tablet game.
What’s missing — and what people actually want — is a real reason to leave the house Monday through Thursday.
Here’s what we’ve built at Bullfrog Creek Brewing in Valrico:
Trivia Night — Wednesdays at 7 PM
Live host. Real prizes. Free to play. Show up solo, with a team, or build a team at the bar. Teams of 1 to 8 players.
Categories rotate — 90s movies, sports, music, science, wildcards. You don’t need to be an obscure-fact nerd. You just need to argue confidently with your friends.
Doors open early, full kitchen is going, get a table by 6:30 if you want one. Reserve a table here if you have a crew coming.
Music Bingo — Tuesdays AND Thursdays at 7 PM
This one’s different. It’s bingo, but instead of B-12 they play a song. You match the song title or artist on your card. First BINGO wins.
Tuesdays and Thursdays are also community fundraisers — local nonprofits and school groups host the night, and the proceeds go to their cause. Last year groups raised between $400 and $4,500 in a single Tuesday or Thursday.
There’s also a progressive jackpot running. If anyone hits BINGO in Round 2 in 10 calls or less, they win the whole pot. Otherwise it grows $25 each game until someone catches it. See the current jackpot →
Queen of Hearts Drawing — Fridays at 7:30 PM
Charity 50/50 raffle. Tickets are $2 each or 12 for $20. We pull a winning ticket, the winner picks a card from the board, and if it’s the Queen of Hearts they take the jackpot. Half goes to the winner, half to the Brandon Rotary Club Charity Foundation. Current jackpot here →
D&D & Game Night — Mondays
Monday is the slowest night of the week everywhere. Not here. We pull out the boards, the dice, the cards. Bring your campaign or just play whatever’s on the table.
What’s actually different about doing it here
You can find trivia at a chain bar. You can find bingo at a community hall. You can find live music at a downtown venue.
What you can’t find easily on the east side is all of it in one spot, with craft beer that’s not Bud Light, food that didn’t come out of a freezer, and the same staff who know you by name.
That’s what we built. It’s why people come back every week.
How to find it without driving downtown
We’re at 3632 Lithia Pinecrest Rd in Valrico. Park free, walk in, no cover.
